Electric current through the brain → controlled seizure under anesthesia. Indications: severe depression (non-responsive to medications), catatonia, psychotic depression. Effectiveness 70-90% (higher than SSRIs). Side effects: temporary amnesia, headache. 6-12 sessions. Stigma due to past (without anesthesia)
