⚔️Greek Resistance
Greeks did not recognize the Latin Empire. They established exile states: the Nicaean Empire (Theodore I Laskaris, Asia Minor), the Despotate of Epirus (Northern Greece), and the Empire of Trebizond (Black Sea coast). Nicaea recaptured Constantinople in 1261 (Michael VIII Palaiologos).
