⛪Transfer of the Metropolis to Moscow
Metropolitan Peter (1308-1326) moved from devastated Kiev to Vladimir and befriended Kalita. He laid the foundation for the Assumption Cathedral and was buried in Moscow. His successor, Theognost, permanently moved the see, establishing Moscow as the spiritual capital of Rus.
