🏴Uprising of the Chernihiv Regiment
December 29, 1825 — January 3, 1826. Southern Society: learned of arrests, decided to act. Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Muravyov-Apostol raised the Chernihiv regiment. 1,000 men. March on Kyiv did not happen: peasants did not join, other regiments did not either. January 3 — dispersed by cannon fire. Muravyov-Apostol wounded, arrested.
