Negotiations in Istanbul
Negotiations took place on March 29, 2022 (Turkey as mediator). The Ukrainian delegation included Podolyak and Arachamia, while the Russian side was represented by Medinsky. Ukraine proposed neutrality (not joining NATO) and security guarantees, while Russia demanded recognition of Crimea and independence for the DNR/LNR. No agreement was reached.
