Campaign to the West (1241-1242)
Following Rus', the Mongols invaded Poland and Hungary. The Battle of Legnica on April 9, 1241, saw the Teutonic Knights defeated, and the Battle on the Sajó River on April 11 resulted in the Hungarian king's defeat. The Mongols reached the Adriatic Sea.
