⚔️Coup of Murzuflos (January 1204)
Tension during winter 1203-1204. Alexios IV did not pay the debt. Byzantines hated the Latins. On January 28, 1204, Alexios Doukas (nicknamed Murzuflos, 'The Glum') arrested Alexios IV. Isaac II died (or was killed). Alexios IV was strangled. Murzuflos became Emperor Alexios V. He refused to pay the crusaders.
