When the Crusaders learned of the alliance (after the defeat at Dorylaeum), hatred towards the Byzantines intensified. Conrad and Louis discussed seizing Constantinople (but did not act). This laid the groundwork for the Fourth Crusade (1204 — sack of Constantinople)
