⚔️Forgiveness of the Crusaders
Crusaders sent envoys to the Pope (winter 1202-1203) seeking forgiveness: 'We were forced — a debt to Venice'. The Pope forgave the knights (condition: no more attacks on Christians). Venetians remained excommunicated. Dandolo disregarded the excommunication.
