A campaign of kings (1189-1192) after Saladin's capture of Jerusalem (1187). Participants included Frederick Barbarossa (who drowned), Philip II Augustus, and Richard the Lionheart. Acre was captured, but Jerusalem remained with the Muslims. The agreement allowed Christians to visit holy sites unarmed
